I hate how everyone is the exact same... i think theyre should be different races maybe? with different benifits and obviously different downfalls. like starcraft has Zerg Protoss and Terran. all are unique and all have good properties and bad properties. and in the end they are all equal. if ogame were to maybe have a race that had really cheap stuff but less powerfull and then another that had really fast building stuff but normal price. and then a race that had really powerfull stuff but more expensive.. i dont know just some ideas

I believe I have found the way to solve OGame's problem. I agree with all of you in the fact that there is too many Universes and the EXTREMELY slow start of things. So I strongly suggest that if any of the Ogame staff are reading this listen closely. This could save the future of your company.
Let me start off by saying that we need to make less universes. Say 15-20 normal universes. This will help the players that currently exist to all stay in one place. Now you may be wondering "How are we going to compact the universes?" Here is my answer. Ogame has the ability to record how many points, resources and how many building and such any player has built. So record this for every player and give them a code. Ex: 'EX977ESC' Just a random code that contains all the data from their old account. Send the code to their email address that they supplied and also send it to the player personally via a message. Then do the largest scale vacation mode in the history of Ogame. Once this is done "hide" universes 16-31 from everyone on the home page in other words, disable them from being used. Then tell everyone to use their code that they received to join a new universe (1-15). Also mention that if they recieved 2 codes or more (files on different universes to begin with) to register each code onto a different universe once again (as to not create a multi-file fiesta). So say I have a file on universe 4 and universe 26. I am given 2 codes, 1 for each file. Tell the player that they cannot use 2 codes on 1 universe. Once all the players who want to continue Ogame have their new files (make the cut off date like 2 weeks or so) this will make all the players who don't play anymore get deleted thus giving more room for new players.
After this is done you will have 15 universes with more or less the elite OGamers. After players start filling these up like crazy introduce a few scenario universes. Ex: 10X speed, Instant 50,000 points, the double rule which i will expand on now. Each mine, solar plant, storage or weapon tech you create will be worth double what they normally would. So instead of 500 metal per hour it would be 1000 per hour. This is because people like big numbers. Plants, mines and ships would still cost the same. Everything would. But it would produce more.
Other scenario universes would be created as time goes by.
Next you upgrade the graphics ever so slightly for the pictures. Even the skin from this website is enough to keep everyone excited for a while
http://digilander.libero.it/epicblue/EvolutionX/
just type that into the 'Skin path (e.g. C:/ogame/skin/)
download' under options. You will see what I mean.
Finally make a crew that designs new buildings, defenses, and ships constantly. Have a new ship/defense/building/whatever come out at LEAST every 2 months or so. Just to keep every involved and have a sense of wanting to continue research. Like combustion drive 6. I bet you almost NO ONE on OGame has a Combustion Drive 7. Simply because NO ONE needs it after they unlock Large Cargo and Recycler. Or how about Plasma Technology. The list goes on...
All in all, this would help Ogame CONSIDERABLY in the future. The only thing they could add past this would perhaps be an option to play out battles like an RPG simulator. The option would be available if a player was on and an attack was about to happen. Even if one player was on and the other wasn't you could still play it out against a super-intelligent computer player.
If you want to comment to this or talk to me about more ideas email me at
zabadoohp@yahoo.com

Thank You for your time and patience.
Please, if any Ogame Staff reads this I highly incourage you to do at least some of these things.

the problem with ogame, now is the repetivness of it all. my have commented on how frequent a new uni came, during uni 22-29 .org

the same slow start to every uni, doing the same thing, the same long process. many think, 'well i have a half decent account here so why do it all again'

looking at uni 30, with the x2 speed, many joined this uni. even myself, but i quit, because of how slow it was, n how i couldnt do anything because of the amount of errors n fleet launch failures. i have a super fast connection but found myself waiting up to 20 seconds per pgage.

tracking back, we had a poll in the forums about wut conditions we would like to see in uni 30. ok GF didnt take any of tht into notice, im sure they alredy decided to do x2 speed, but the results were overwelming n many had voted.

but its goes to show, there was around 9 different stipluations, ranging from , no moons, to small systems and everything in between

i think if u mixed these up for each uni, so tht each uni started, would have a new condition, youd find more people joined, and more people stayed.

the same old boring unis makes this game too much hassle to play. i statered in uni X, n joined the 4 unis after that. have now all quit all of them, because i am not gonna put my efforts into going through the whole slow process on n on, while i have a uni where i am well ranked.

thts thats wuts wrong with ogame, n thats how i think you can fix things

One big thing: the graphics. Several years ago, I believe it was, everything was blue and streamlined. Now the pictures look rigid and all too unwieldy. This does nothing to help the futuristic feel of the game- it decreases it. Sure, the spikes on the Destroyer look cool, but it would be a lot cooler if it was streamlined.

The learning curve I don't mind, but several friends I have asked to join were put off by it. By no means do I mean it should be eliminated, but a free tutorial or start-up guide on the main page would be nice.

Another huge issue: "How am I supposed to get 250,000 points to join this alliance?!?!?!" New players hate being at the bottom of the food chain. A new player list should be added to the main page or the statistics page so that stronger players can help them out.

OGame is by far my favorite game to date. Everything else is boring. The only problem I have personally is consistency. If I'm not on for a few days, I feel like I'm already behind. I've had two accounts deleted because I forgot about OGame (most likely due to computer crash) and this is my third. Maybe an e-mail account reactivation feature? Or you could use your e-mail to go into Vacation Mode. That would be a nice feature.

Also, the number of Universes is skyrocketing. If you want more players per Universe, make less Universes. That makes sense to me.
